Youth on Hampstead Heath

Hampstead Heath nature activities

Youth groups

We are happy to provide free support and Hampstead Heath days out to local youth groups who might like to bring their young people closer to nature.

We can help you organise:

  • nature activities (e.g. bug hunting, pond dipping, volunteering)

  • picnics or outings (we have picnic rugs to borrow)

  • access to Hampstead Heath leisure facilities (e.g. swimming)

  • and much more!

You can also find out more about our previous InYouth project that helped people struggling with school attendance.

Youth volunteering on Hampstead Heath

Our Youth Volunteering Programme on Hampstead Heath offers young people the opportunity to get involved in nature volunteering activities on weekends.

Whether you're passionate about climate change, looking to gain work experience, are working towards your Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) award or are just curious, there are lots of ways you can get involved on Hampstead Heath.

Bring your school closer to nature by joining our free Heath Friendly Schools programme.

Work experience

In 2023, for the first time, we offered work experience placements on Hampstead Heath to local secondary school pupils. These enabled young people to find out more about working in the green space and not-for-profit sector in a friendly and supportive environment. Look out for 2024 opportunities in early 2024.
