Funding News: Green Recovery Challenge Fund

We’re delighted to announce that we have been awarded £88,800 to launch the Wildlife around Hampstead Heath project. We have received a grant from round two of the Government’s Green Recovery Challenge Fund to develop our work connecting the community to nature on Hampstead Heath.

The fund was developed by Defra and its Arm's-Length Bodies. It is being delivered by The National Lottery Heritage Fund in partnership with Natural England, the Environment Agency and Forestry Commission.

This funding will enable us to:

  • Celebrate the Heath’s natural heritage beyond its 150th anniversary year

  • Provide more volunteering opportunities across our green spaces

  • Re-launch our wildlife interpretation programme

  • Continue our citizen science and wildlife monitoring work

  • Expand our nature based mental health activities

  • Run a range of community activities and ‘greening projects’ with local groups

  • Offer more work experience placements for people underrepresented in the environmental sector

We look forward to continuing our conservation and community work with our green space partners, the City of London and English Heritage and to working with our staff, our volunteers and all our local community partners on developing this work over the coming months.
