Wildlife connectivity

< Back to Conservation

We’re working with local groups to develop resources, provide training and support and inspire people to get involved with nature conservation around Hampstead Heath. Much of this work is focusing on hedgehogs, though other species will also benefit. Find out more about the project and how you can help below.

Did you know that Hampstead Heath is home to one of the largest populations of hedgehogs in London. Find out about hogs on the Heath and out work to help them.

Learn about what you can do to help hedgehog connectivity around Hampstead Heath.

You can support our wildlife connectivity projects by adopting a hedgehog box - these are built by our volunteers and installed on and around the Heath to provide refuges for hedgehogs.

Help hedgehogs by buying a hedgehog highway sign to connect your garden to others, or show your support by buying a hedgehog bag.

Connectivity for other species

Our work also includes connectivity work for other species, for instance, by creating new wildflower meadows around the edges of Parliament Hill, planting new hedgerows on the fringes of the Heath and looking after the Savernake Bridge garden.
